For more than 20 years, I've helped buyers and sellers in the Puget Sound area. Putting my clients' interests first has resulted in repeat business and recommendations. My own values build my reputation, which, in turn, builds my clientele and thus ensures my bread and butter. Today, almost all of my business is from past clients and their friends and family.
I became an agent in 1985 and continued my education, taking hundreds of class hours in areas such as negotiating, real estate law, marketing, real estate investment, finance, management and ethics.
One of my specialties, since 1986, is serving as a buyer's agent. I was one of the first agents to be certified by the State of Washington, to teach agents how to represent buyers. I bring an unusual background to real estate that also gives me a broad perspective.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington. Before moving back to Seattle, I worked as industrial engineer with the Coca-Cola Export Corp in Great Britain. I also worked as project manager for a commercial construction company in Redmond.
While in Great Britain, I was involved in helping to create a community jobs and recycling project that was so successful that it was copied in many parts of Britain and Europe. One of my energy conservation projects, won the Queen's Commendation Certificate.
I was also involved in the local Council for Racial Equality in Britain. I've worked for civil rights and on human rights causes since my school days and I've written articles and made presentations on current affairs at universities, schools and public groups. My articles have been published in newspapers and magazines and I have contributed to a textbook on international terrorism, used by US law enforcement agencies.
I am blessed with two great kids...Heather and Arman...and my wife of 24 years, Kathy, who has practice in Edmonds, as a counselor specializing in grief and bereavement.
Kathy's brother Brad, is a home inspector who has worked with many of my clients. I am happy to report that he has on occasion, written reports that discouraged my clients from buying a property. I respect that because my clients' interests always come first.
